Mark Stevenson has been involved in the lead smelting and battery industry for the past 38 years. His career has covered all facets of primary and secondary lead research and production and battery development working in numerous roles over these years. He is currently the Technical Director for Global Lead Technologies and holds numerous positions throughout the world including Chairman of the Asian Battery and Secondary Lead conferences.
Beginning his career as a metallurgist with Simsmetal, Mark has provided technical support, market development, project implementation and developed product strategies throughout Australia, Europe and Asia through companies including Ecobat Technologies, Nyrstar, Zinifex and Pasminco.
Mark has also been a Director of Smart Storage (Ecoult), responsible for the development and commercialisation of the UltraBattery, a CSIRO developed lead-acid battery/supercapacitor hybrid, and PAM Chairman of the Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium, an international R&D consortium dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the lead-acid battery. He currently holds the position of Chairman and Organiser of the Asian Battery and International Secondary Lead Conferences.
